Regular purchase: How long?

Daddicus

I bought a copy of the book and CD off the web site. Does anybody know approximately how long they take to arrive?

Don's said Marc is aiming for having all the KS backers fulfilled by end of May.

So expect to see it shipping in early June, but don't count on it.

Thanks

Thank you. At least I know now.

If anybody has Marc's ear, he probably should be told that he shouldn't post a charge to any credit cards until within 30 days of shipment. There's a federal law about it. There's no way I'm going to let the feds know, but if one person does ... well, it wouldn't be good. He's really put a lot of work into this. I would hate to have it go awry because of a bookkeeping problem.

Related question: I see a note on Traveller5.net about an offer for those who buy the game through a brick-and-mortar store. I never thought of doing that, but could that mean they already have it? Anybody know?

I tried to order from the FFE site (as mentioned in another thread), for delivery to the England/UK, with the Megatraveller CD-ROM thrown in for good measure. The site wouldn't accept the MT disk, wanting to do it as a separate order, so Marc was kind enough to offer to do it all by Paypal invoice and was as good as his word.

The Paypal invoice showed the main items - book, dice set, etc, (not the MT CD) as one of the Kickstarter bundles, and the standard text about shipping being expected in April. But I think I read somewhere that it was likely June for regular orders to the UK.

I don't mind either way really. It'll come when it comes, I've got tons of astrogation stuff to do like subsector and system design to do, at the moment.

Kudos to Marc for sorting out my ordering problem. My hero!

Yes, I purchased my book from the web site on March 1st and received it last Monday, June 3rd. I wasn't a Kickstarter participant.

I imagine that purchases from the web site should pick up now that Marc has got most of the Kickstarters out.

Not that that's at all fair for those of us Kickstarters still waitng for our books!

I would think Marc would hesitate to sell any books to non kickstarters until all orders are filled. :(

Man, I HATE kickstarter!

Where are you living? My guess is that Marc is trying to be as efficient as possible. I probably got mine because there were several other Texas buyers going out at the same time.

I don't hate KS, but at this point I feel like a total dope for having backed this one with nothing to show for it. It's obvious that it's more than "a few" people who ordered it from the site recently have it in hand, and that a few hundred of us who backed the KS a year ago are still waiting. So glad I paid that dollar through PayPal to make it easier on Marc to expedite the shipment. Ha! If only I'd known the secret handshake.

Last count given on the KS itself was supposedly around 300 left. It was either in the running comments or one of the updates. Of course, that information is probably as reliable as every other projection ever given there.

Although if you paid through Paypal there may be a recourse.......

For the dollar? Not worth it. I just add it to the list of things that suck about how this KS was run. The book will either come someday or it won't, because I was backing a dream, not a pre-order system blah blah blah. Whatever, I'm pretty close to beyond caring at this point, most of whatever enthusiasm I had at one point is now exhausted.

Still, why has product been released to the store if there are still KS people without their books?

Proper procedure would be to send out all books, ask for any missed orders on the blog, and THEN send books to the store.

Funny thing is that FRPGames is expecting to have it in stock on 6/19! Won't that be a riot (literally) when online stores like FRP and Noble Knight and local game stores have it from their distributors before KS backers did?
