Refereeing Con Games: Can I Use You As A Reference?

Good Morning, All:

I may need some references from Traveller fans that have played in one or more of my Traveller games at a convention such as Gen Con over the past four to five years. If you have played in one of my games before, and would like me to use you as a reference should the matter come up, please respond in this thread. In addition, I would appreciate any feedback that you feel I have earned as your Referee at a convention gaming session. Please include how many of my games you have played in at conventions, as that could help me out a lot.

With Regards,
Flynn

Certainly, you may use me.

Your games are cinematic, action filled with an element of danger awaiting in the background. You do you your best to ensure that everyone is having a good time and you keep the party focused and on track through the effective use of NPCs whilst avoiding railroading the players into predetermined choices. You are a master of different voices and characterization that made the whole session highly enjoyable.**

As far as my own experience, Refereeing Convention Games. Solid advice is find games that have a clear: beginning, middle, and end. Climaxes should mark each stage and transition to each stage. If a serial, then have the hook placed in right at the end but one that just leaves the players wanting to know a little more but no great loss if they do not thereby giving a sense of accomplishment of an adventure completed.

Ensure at some point, if you feel comfortable, set things up that it is a free for all. Not in the sense of a Monty Haul Campaign but rather that players actions and script are open and it becomes an exercise in true role playing.

**PM your email addy once again, and I can send you photos from last year's GenCon. My computer has been funny that I cannot download photos since that time and wouldn't you know it...I found the wretched cables 2 wks after GenCon.
