I thought the thread was quite constructive. Towards the end, we were actually getting down to brass tacks & discussing what people felt was right & wrong about whichever version of Traveller was near and dear to their heart.
On the other hand, I didn't realize that you had locked nearly every MGT thread that had active participation. That seems to be a little heavy handed, don't you think. It may not have been your cup of tea, but I was getting very good info on whether to add Mongoose Traveller to my Traveller arsenal.

I agree with the first part, not the second. Maybe Andrew won't find this thread a bad place to do that?
It wasn't just your posts that did it. Contributory maybe but not singularly.
Communicating is never easy, harder even written on a thread that lacks so many clues to intent and meaning. There's a quote (I think) itching in my brain but not quite coming, something about we all speak our own language foreign to everyone else and it's a wonder we ever make any sense to anyone.
I saw (personal perspective and prejudice playing it's part) some of your posts as insightful and helpful, others I just wondered about the point (probably meaning I missed it, not that it was lacking). I don't recall getting an evil intent vibe from any of them.
For whatever my opinion is worth on the subject.

I really think this forum needs to consist of more than just endless debates about what is/isn't wrong with MGT.

It think it should be posts and posts of play by posts, or alternate rule articles. What people are working on. That sort of thing. Application of all of these many rulesets and backgrounds, rather than interpretation.

I think this forum needs to get back into the mechanics of play for this game. I used to read this forum every day, but have pretty much given up as my posts on mechanics have been lost in the sea of arguments. I would like to see this get back to how things work, rather then why things work/dont work....I think that has been covered completely.
