Races

I was always under the impression that the Droyne are a Major Race. They were the first ones to invent a jump drive after all.
The Vargr also belong in this category, wagging their tails behind them.

A few additional Human races you might consider:

- Lancia: from the Imperial Encyclopaedia
- Loeskalth: from the Imperial Encyclopaedia
- Sydites: from Gateway to Destiny
- Swanfeh: from Gateway to Destiny
- Iziri: from Solomani and Aslan
- Wuans: from Solomani and Aslan
- K'Tring: from DA6-Night of Conquest
(and I know a few Darrians that might resent the lable "elf-people"!)

As for Non-Human races:
- From JTAS 11, the full name for the Bwaps is: Bawapakerwa-a-a-awapawab
- Oh, oh, and my all time favorite race: the Xapoqi from Xapoqoz (3131 Corridor): found in Travellers' Digest 18

Hope that helps.

Nick, this is a wiki, so you can make the changes, if you want. :D (I will try to get to it later today, if possible.)

I was working without the books in front of me, and just wanted to get the list started. Thanks for the input. (The "space-elves" comment needs to be in there, though it ought to be reflected as derogatory.)

Oh! And, I think adding the first source document for the race would be great. Suggested format:

Race - short description; AKAs; source (with link to the appropriate wiki page)

Doh! OK, well I guess I should do that then. I'll do my best not to break anything... (please, please don't break :().

A Question: I believe that Hunter said that this wiki was supposed to be for canon material. So what do we do about DGP material, which as we all know is 'authoratative' but not 'canon'? There is just so much jucy goodness in their publications that it would be a shame not to include at least a reference to them.

Even more to the point, what do we do with a race like the Cassilldan? They are a minor human race that appear in a comparative drawing in Solomani and Aslan (p.24), but to the best of my knowledge there is no write-up about them anywhere. Should they be included?

I'll throw them in the list for now, until somebody says otherwise, but I could use some guidance before I go mucking around too much. Thanks.

I would include them if they are in officially published material (I would probably not include anything from Judge's Guild  ). If they are a problem, then the page can be edited to remove them later. :)

Oh, and thanks for making the changes! :D

Now I see what happens when two folks try to save at the same time! :p

Are the Shriekers a sentient race, per canon? Or is that debatable?

And, BTW, the way to italicize is two single quotes (') on either side of the text. It looks like double quotes, but it ain't.

It's been too long, and I don't have my books handy, so bear with me. Which adventure is Safari Ship?

Also, what is "[GDW:0318]"? I haven't seen that notation before.

I'm fairly sure it is Adventure 10. I'll check tomorrow when I can get hold of my books.

GDW: 0318 is the number on the spine of the book. I guess you don't need it since you haven't quoted it for anything else. Remove it if it is a nuisance.

Hope this is OK.

David

Do the Sky Raiders count as a separate alien race, do you think?

When I can get hold of my books, I'll add in the races from the FASA adventures.

Cheers

David

That's cool.

Actually, this just wouldn't be the place to put it. My idea (and of course, it isn't my wiki, so this could change) was to put the source by name, and link it to the appropriate page (even if it currently doesn't exist). The links may get changed to a single page showing all the books from one publisher or version or what-have-you, but it's a start. The number you put in there would go on that linked page. (See what Gruffty started with Alien Module 7.)

Do you sleep? There's a 4-hr block when you weren't updating, then back at it! Thanks for the work.

Please! Somebody stop me! :file_19:

Actually, that's all I have for now. I know that there were a lot more races mentioned in "History of the Imperium Working Group" files, but I have almost no information on them other than names, so I didn't include them.

And you are very welcome :)
