Proto-Traveller: Cassian Subsector

Awesome. (Only thing is that, at this time, the allegiances don't extend off the map. Take it as the nitpick it is, please!)

EDIT: I have determined that the Cassian Subsector begins at 0911 and not 0101; this is primarily for my own storyline.

Ah, but that's the beauty of it - the software does the writeups automatically based on UPP...

Glad ya like it. Currently borders don't go past the sector outlines, unless I hard code 'em - so I went ahead and tweaked the data as so...

And I updated the pdf's, etc. accordingly as well - so re-download 'em. And if you want more 'bleed' for other borders, color changes, etc. take a look at the sample sector in my main 'Web Sector Generator' thread and let me know which hexes should have which colors (0000, etc.) - I'd be happy to tweak it a bit more to your contentedness.

After looking at that Sector map, I realized that this Subsector would be one over and one down (I hadn't had a sector map at the time, and wasn't thinking about where it would be).

The first half would be:

My players are currently on Caldbolg and are (possibly) about to get ahold of the super secret Data MacGuffin that will cause them to Travel waaaay out Yonder... probably here to the Cassian subsector.

Anybody got suggestions on what the Data could be about?

If you mean the Super Secret Data Mc Guffin, then it could just be something fake (worthless) to get them out to the Cassian Subsector.

If, however, it's something even remotely real, it could be rumors of some sort of really rich belt strike in the Heliwit system. Now, the clincher is, when they get there, not only is their employer out to screw them, but either the Cassian Federation or the Isis Concordat could launch some sort of coup attempt - or to be really nasty, one of them tries a coup, the other tries to prevent it and your players get stuck in the middle...

Thanks! I'm glad you like it!

I'm using my sector generator script, unmodified. I reparsed the data files a bit (setting the routes and border/region colors, etc.) and then after the pdf was generated, I stripped out the blank subsector data and map pages. The description is an optional section that the script generates if toggled. Take a peek at the 'Web Sector Generator' thread for a view of the script's lifespan-to-date.

My software basically combines James Perkins' SW4 (gensec, subsec, mapsub) and JGreely's sec2pdf (borders, routes and labels), as well as Paul Netherwood's full-upp for world descriptions and Traveller rules in perl by Joshua Bell and Paul at Signal GK for route/border calculations and animal and cargo data. It's designed to provide a print-ready, canon-style Classic Traveller sector with relevant data for gaming.

If there's anyone whom I haven't acknowledged, PLEASE let me know!

Done. The data for 0503 has been replaced by the data for 0705, and the system has been aligned Cf.

I have tentatively named 0102 Corlano (from Zelazny's short story "itself surprised"), and 0105 Korrika. The two possibly share a cognate root in their names, /kor/, from some local (human?) language.

Hmmm... I'd been originally thinking of having a minor race sandwiched between the two nations, which died out when the worlds between them were removed. But who's to say that the race (I'm thinking of goblins, or something similar to them) isn't on these two worlds?

I wonder whatever happened to the map and sector data...
