Kevin grew up in a lower-class family in the industrial capital of Starco-Haruto on the planet Casteria. Kevin’s parents worked as maintenance workers for the Haruto Corporation in order to support him and his younger sister. His parents made so many sacrifices so that he and his sister can get a decent education.
As a kid, Kevin always had an interest in reading the history of investigative figures such as Elliot Ness and Allan Pinkerton and fictional private detectives such as Sam Spade, Sherlock Holmes and Philip Marlowe. As crime was rampant in his city, Kevin wanted to make a difference and become a police officer.
After high school, Kevin applied to Casteria University to study criminology but was rejected. Undeterred, Kevin applied to the Casteria Police Forces Academy and was accepted. While Kevin is a short and seemingly unintimidating figure unlike his fellow classmates, however, his perseverance allowed him to graduate the academy.
After graduation, Kevin was assigned to beat patrol during the first few years. While work as an Agent 3rd Class did not go as smoothly as he wanted it to be, however, he learned quickly and was able to pass his Field Training Program.
During his second term, Kevin was successfully commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and was assigned to the investigations division. His work as a surveillance and missing persons investigator quickly earned himself a quick promotion to full Lieutenant.
During his third term, Kevin passed his Captain’s exam and was promoted to Head of Missing Persons Investigations Sub-Division. As a leader, Kevin was able to earn respect from his subordinates and is always willing to work cases instead of being behind the desk. Even though he wanted to retire the Police Forces and wanted to go into private investigations, however, Kevin was forced to continue another term due to the disappearance of a CEO’s daughter which turned out to be one of his hardest and most stressful cases. Kevin believed that some corporate CEO’s and government officials were involved in her disappearance. To this day, the case is still unsolved and this failure caused hardship from his superiors since they were pressured by the corporate controlled government to fire him.
Kevin’s fourth term was uneventful after the unsolvable missing person’s case. He failed his Major’s exam and wanted to try again next year. Kevin still tries to find clues about the CEO’s daughter disappearance.
Kevin decided that his fifth term was his last due to belief that his superiors were trying hard not to promote him with pressure from the government. He failed the Major’s exam again and decided to make plans of starting up his own PI agency. Kevin retired from the Police Forces after a good 20 year stint.
Kevin managed to start up LaPaz Investigations and hopes to be successful in his new venture as a private investigator like his fictional heroes. He also vows to solve that one case that has bothered him for years.
Kevin is a soft-spoken person, but he can talk himself out of trouble and can charm and/or intimidate people into giving him information. Although Kevin is a short person and doesn’t seem to look physically intimidating, however, his intelligence, experience and ability to perform covert surveillances makes him a formidable investigator. When pushed come to shove, he always carries a pistol that he was allowed to keep as part of his retirement package.
Kevin is also a private person and tends to keep to himself which can be a problem when it comes to making friends and having a relationship. He still likes to read crime novels and has a tendency to wear a fedora in public like some of his fictionalized counterparts. He plans on writing a crime novel about his experiences during the CEO daughter’s disappearance.
