Power Rangers in Space

Okay. So this morning I'm tinkering with my new digital antenna to see if I can get some of the old stations. No luck. :frankie:

So I go back to analog, grab one of the loca stations that's showing some kind of strange kiddy fantasy show. Only it turns out to be the latest iteration of the "Power Rangers" franchise. :oo:

I was in my 20s and way too old to be watching this thing. But... a thought occured to me. How would a player group manifest them in Traveller?

Anybody with Power Ranger thoughts

p.s. it's an awful show... even for kids.

No giant robots! I'm fine with a bunch of leather clad ninjas running around in motorcycle helmets fighting crime but no giant robots!

Watch the Robot Chicken run up of Voltron; absolutely priceless.

lol, I was a little concerned no one would reply.

I'll scout around for Robot Chicken's take on Voltron. :)

"And I'll form... the beak?"

The last few iterations have felt a little weird. As they've been filmed in what looks like New Zealand, there's a completely different vibe to them - a long way from the old original Power Rangers of the Mighty Morphine. More like Shortland Street or Australia's Neighbours.

There was an iteration called "Power Rangers in Space" a while back, wasn't there?

There'd have to be some sort of combination of high-tech toys, armour, a warrior code and a Psionic trait called, I dunno, The Power or something, that fuels those toys without depleting the characters' internal resources and ...

Or you could wait for Psions, to come out. Looks like Lawrence Whittaker's got some cool ideas waiting to be used.

I saw an English parody dub of the original Japanese show in 1988 or thereabouts. I think it was on NBC's Friday Night Videos. They were fighting the "Party Monster" :) It was hilarious. They showed it again, then made another installment, but it wasn't as funny.

I had no idea this thing would become so popular with kids.
