Although T4 is the result of the development from Classic and Megatraveller systems, it is clear that quite a few features were taken from TNE. Academic learning provides new skills instead of a EDU raise, while increased difficulty was translated as a multiplication of dice, which is, in fact, an adaptation of the skill level multiplier rule of TNE. Although TNE was, in several points, very different from the traditional system, I believe that some of those features were an enhancement over the original rules.
I wonder if some T20 rules could be ported to T5, enhancing the game with some new features. I did not have access to the T20 playtesting but I understand that it uses an upgraded version of High Guard to ship building and combat, as well as new rules for interstellar commerce. I could see how T5 could profit by returning to High Guard in terms of shipbuilding and space combat. I understand that T20 modified sensor and computer rules, as well as provided new equipment options, which sounds very promising to me. Upgraded commerce rules will also be nice, as long as they don't fall in the excess of detail trap of Far Trader.
