Population explosions?

I am starting my 5 Sisters website in preparation for T5 when something dawned on me. The standard UWP list the population statistic. Now how do I handle system populations. If each planet has its own population than we will get a population explosion so I am guessing we divide the UWP figure amongst all the worlds in the system. Are there guidelines for this problem?

Vaguely from memory the expanded system generation just added population for subordinate worlds in a system but iirc none could have a Pop code equal to or greater than the Mainworld. So the total of all subordinate worlds was always going to be less than the Mainworld, enough so that they were an insignificant addition even if substantial. Generally less of an impact than a high roll/choice for the Pop multiplier for the Mainworld.

Far-trader is right. LBB6 (page 24) makes the limit on the non-mainworld's population one less than the mainworld pop code. This means that unless you have a lot more than 10 populated worlds (besides the mainworld), you really can't do more than double the pop. Which, of course, means the pop code wouldn't change (unless you're paying attention to the multiplier, and it starts pretty high).
