I have recently noticed a flaw in the stamina/ lifeblood hit point system. We all know how this system works right? Every one gets stamina points per level and lifeblood equal to his constitution score. Now don`t get me wrong, I love this system. The life blood points are fixed and ensure that no character can soak up machine gun fire and not worry about it. The problem is that everything has roughly the same score. The little nerd with a pop gun could have the same life blood score as a red dragon. It makes sense that a big creature should be harder to kill. So, with that in mind

Fine -10 minimum of 1. A bug with con 7 can still be squashed.
Diminutive -8
Tiny -4
Small -2
Medium 0
Large +10
Huge +20
Gargantuan +30
Colossal +40
Enormous +50
Monstrous +60
Stupendous +70
Incredible +80

I would really like to hear some feed back on this one. I`m not sure if my numbers add up quite right. Some of these could be way to much to be realistic. If some one could help out by playtesting a few for me I would appreciate it.

Interesting and reasonably reasoned I think. Fits with the vehicle/ship quasi-equivalent of SI which I've been looking at the last couple days so I think you might have something. I might suggest slightly different numbers, based on the SI progression. Maybe:

Fine _________ 0
Diminutive ____ 1
Tiny _________ 2
Small ________ 5
Medium _____ 10
Large _______ 25
Huge _______ 50
Gargantuan __ 75
Colossal ____ 100
Enormous ___ 250

plus or minus the Con bonus or penalty.

Basically its the Base SI for size from the table on page 253.

???

Problem. all of your PCs fall under the Medium category. To honor this system you would have to give all your players +10 to there lifeblood points.

Well I saw it as Lifeblood = Con score, average Con Score = 10 (never mind whatever method of Con score creation, 3d6 avg is 10.5) and of course PC's will in all likelyhood have a Con bonus so it should come out about the same in the wash. So why +10, am I missing something? The big news is those Sydites suddenly seem even more menacing this way! Anyway, just my cr.02

Ouch! Math headache  </font>[/QUOTE]Not so hard really. Rolling a d6 there is an equal chance of each number coming up so...

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 = 21 points

21 points divided by 6 rolls is 3.5 points average (maybe wrong word, mean?)

so 3d6 is 3.5 points times 3 rolls is 10.5 points average.

Now, figuring the average for 4d6 keep the best 3, reroll all 1's (a common hero method) gets a bit more complicated
