Player's Guide: Stock Guns and Armor

This is a call for a "stock" guns and armor list for consideration to go into a Player's Guide. This work can be done in parallel to errata fixes to the BBB.

Here are the assumptions:

1. Start with The Traveller Book. Port them from there into T5.
2. Add the laser pistol. That showed up after the LBBs.
3. Add a TL 16 weapon and TL 16 armor.
4. We Will Keep the list short. As in, LBB, "grab and go" short.

ATTACHED: tables only. The text with gun descriptions, even trimmed of combat-rules specific content, adds another 9 pages.

Good idea. Now, it may irk some players who wish to have a more nuanced approach to picking equipment, but is there space to provide "grab bags" of kit (a bit like lists of stuff in a ships locker) as examples in whatever book is produced.

The idea (as I imagine it) would be like D&D 4E Treasure Parcels. Standardized blocks of kit that can be listed in an appendix and dished out during character creation or during employment on a mission so that players can hit the ground running. We do this while playing OD&D to save time picking 200ft of rope, crampons, oils, bags, tinder etc etc etc. A bit like the ships locker, but actually listed rather than "if it seems reasonable, it is probably in there". (don't quote me on that! Though MgT p.110 is what I am thinking about when I mention this). IT can obviously be tweaked by groups and players and GMs can be weaned off the idea as they become more familiar with operations in the universe.

I rather like that idea. Let me think about that.

No, better: cym0k, could you start a T5 thread about it in particular?[FONT=arial, helvetica]

I think I'll pillage TTB and the MegaTraveller Imperial Encyclopedia for gun text. Then I can produce a nice weapons list that feels like TTB.

Tables are nice, and I'll have a page with a gun table and an armor table. But descriptions are necessary, too.

Pillaged from MT's nice descriptions.

ATTACHED to the OP: tables only. The text with gun descriptions, even trimmed of combat-rules specific content, adds another 9 pages. And since perhaps half of that text is from MegaTraveller, Fair Use applies. So I'll leave it out.
