Picts in Space!

A bunch of (Scottish!) mercs transporting a prisoner are ambushed and crash on a mysterious planet, whose weird inhabitants are less than friendly...

Proof that you can make a decent SF film on a tiny budget. How tiny? £8000. That's less than $16000!

Okay, it's not that original (a bit of Pitch Black, a bit of Predator, a bit of Cthuloid weirdness), the acting's a bit rough, and a few of the FX shots are rather poor, but it's perfectly enjoyable. And did I mention it only cost £8000?

I saw that on satellite not so long back!

I enjoyed it!

Despite most of 'em being scotch ;)

I do like some of the "pocket Empires" in Reaver's Deep sector, BTB... Principality of Caledon, Confederacy of Duncinae.

Lots of "Celts-in-Space"!

What you needed was Coral Press' Deneb Sector sourcebook. OK, it's been completely decanonised since, but there was definitely a Welsh influence in there...

That may change with the publication of the Spica Sector Book ...

Suddenly it all makes sense...two linguistic mysteries solved: the humans destined for Vland obviously came from Wales, and when they left they took the entire supply of vowels with them...

That´s because no non-Welsh can pronounce these names... I mean, seriously, the Welsh names I´ve seen sound a bit like a K´Kree has been trying to pronounce Hiver language ;)

"Gezundheit!"
or
"Cough-cough-hack-spit-gargle-rattle-gasp-<thump>"

:0)

I'm just starting up a game based in Caledon. The funny part is I decided to do this even before I knew it was Scotsman in space.... Slante Va!

That's less than the budget for MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE.
