Patent of Nobility Card (where are you?)

Count (unnamed)
REFT 0503 LINTL B739AEE-C
wow, religious autocracy - that deserves exploration :)

Oh boy, with billions on a near water world.
I hope this is a "lets swim nude together" type religion rather than a "it too crowded for any freedom to be granted" type religion

have fun

I guess it is the kind of "be especially nice to your leaders or be damned for eternity" kind of religion. Freedom is definitively a problem (law level 14). Research indicated that the government (three mystic figures) is fairly oppressive. At the moment I am not sure if I am (or want to be) some kind of diplomat or one of those mystics.

Is it a case of the Mystic boss can break the rules of his religion or is he living in a Glass Bubble and realy forced ot follow them?

If you want to use your Count as a PC, it is though for the ref to make personnal adventure involving a world ruler that could delegate any task (unless kidnapped in air force one:D) choose the diplomat. If you are the ref and use it as the patron you may as well be a Boss or Bigga a Boss

For Rethe, I decided to have my Count as the Charismatic dictator.

Just got mine yesterday!

Knighthood: Delphi 1737 "Todd" A100633-C Va Na Ni
"Todd"? Really? That's an exciting name for a planet. :nonono: And barely not an asteroid either. Still, otherwise looks like a nice enough world, for as long as you stay inside the domes. Self-perpetuating oligarchy sure, but it doesn't seem to interfere with the people much. And starport A, TL C are pretty nice. Too bad it's located in the armpit of the Imperium. Just looking forward to all those K'kree "kill the meat-eater" raids.

TAS (bearer)
Ilelish 3008 "Freya" B785735-7 Ga Ag Ri
Now there's a cool name for a world, and in a nice location too, two parsecs away from Ilelish (Ilelish/Ilelish) (that's just fun to say). The world's pretty nice, being a Rich Garden world. It is a bit low-tech for my tastes, but on the bright side, perfect for a character who would just be totally enchanted by higher TL cultures, and want to get out and visit them, kinda like me! That and so close to the future ruler of the Imperium. :smirk: Hey, my coins say they were minted in 1116, should be any day now...

So can a character be from one world, but 'knighted' on/for another?

I've just had a thought. Many eons ago, when the TML was the primary forum for Traveller players, there was the Great TML Landgrab. Maybe we should have a second Landgrab based on our Patents of Nobility: Take the world you've been assigned, gather as much canonical references (if any) as you can, then detail the hell out of it and post the write-up to a website somewhere.

One of my worlds, Yori, was done in the first Great Landgrab.

Well I was wondering how much OTU Canonical were our Titles and Holdings?

As a Count, I was told that I could create for my altergo the Baronny, Marquisat and Viscount holding as if I had rolled my Count title during caracter generation? But how could they be OTU Cannonical.

So can a character be from one world, but 'knighted' on/for another?

In short, yes. A knighthood in this case represents a grant of land that I (my Traveller persona) has control over. I am Count of This, Knight of That, Knight of The Other Thing. This represents three separate territories where I have full economic control. A County is rather large (32 terrain hexes), and a Knight Holding is rather small (1 terrain hex).

This is not dissimilar from European peerage where a given noble may be Duke of Somesuch, Count of Elsewhere, and Knight of The Other Place. This would represent three separate holdings.

I promised myself I would not grumble, but I'm rather jealous of all you peers with super hi-tech worlds. For my County I got a TL-7 space rock. I must have literally pissed in the Emperor's cornflakes to get territory grants like that. On the other hand, it's kind of fun to think of the Count in his hand-patched vacc suit laboring over some piece of machinery being called, "Yer Ex'Lency" somewhat ironically by one of the techs standing nearby and then drinking with everyone else in the Lone Star before crawling back to his sleep cubicle ala Outland.

If you're looking for a world to develop then a TL-7 space rock is a 'fixer-upper', while the super hi-tech worlds are already done.

Baron of Ipkur C564543-9 - at least I can walk around without a vacc suit
Knight of Ikuna E000410-A - guess there's a rock with my name on it somewhere, but I can carry any armaments I want
TAS: Dudid B510526-9 in Vland.

Apparently from all over. I apparently get around a bit. Need to look up travel times between holdings.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but what does the "O:2310" mean? I assume it has something to do with Broguun (Daibei 2310), but I can't seem to find in my notes what it means.

It means that Broguun owns Maiiu. Well, except for that Local Hex that is your Land Grant, Sir James.

A TAS card is under the name of Khaalo Hariisi (she's not nobility).

Very nice, Your Grace.

I finally received my T5 box of goodness 2 weekends ago (among the very last it seems by Marc's shipping comments), and only just now could find the time to research and post here.

Sir Dennis [my real name]
Lish 1827 Bern E435336-8 Lo 121 (My Homeworld, evidently)

Located in the Lishun/Simen subsector, it is J1 from 1826 Sukamshu (starport C) which lies midpoint of the X-Boat route link between 2025 Takao (A) and the neighboring subsector capitol 1627 Taccis/Taccis (A). Bern is also J1 from 1927 Kuroshio (B) which has a Naval base.
Curiously, there is another "Bern" world at Massilia 2130, a D-Tech world.
-------------------------------------------

and I was awarded/bestowed upon:

Marquis of the Solomani Rim
Solo 2911 Sathyos A579726-D Pi 734

Located in the Solomani Rim/Banasdan subsector, it is J1 from 2910 Huy Braseal (A, Naval Base), and J2 from 2812 Nisinasha (A, Scout Way Station) - both lieing on the X-Boat route leading to 2218 Muan Kwoyen (A) just inside the Vegan Autonomous District (via two J3s and a J4, starting from Nisinasha). From there the XB route is only a total of one J1, one J2 and four J3s to Terra itself (Sol 1827). Adjacent to Sathyos is the interdicted world 2912 Rild EAC7774-9
Curiously, a journey from Sathyos to the subsector capitol along the trade route goes through the Vega, Sol and Arcturus subsectors before coming back to Banasdan/Banasdan (2920) from Rimward.

The fact Sathyos is a tech-6 Pre-Industrial world may clue why I was posted here: to help raise the world to higher standards within the interstellar community. The tainted atmosphere of this wet world (~10% land mass) may be the major problem. The nearby Scout and Naval bases may be of some use. There is also the question of neighboring interdicted Rild...
-----------------------------------------------------

Character: Sir Strephon Shullianellea
Zaru 1707 Bondi B984532-B Ag Ni Pr 903

Located in the Zarushagar/Lagaar subsector, on the edge of the Triton subsector. This region of space severly lacks X-Boat routes: the closest end of a XB route is three J2s away at 1902 Wilson's World. The next nearest XB stop is two subsector widths trailing at 3202 Lode/ Woerner. This despite the fact that most of the worlds in this region have A or B-class starports, and much of them as a group are accessible by J1 or J2. This seems to open all sorts of easy Trade opportunity...
--------------------------------------

TAS (Bearer)
Mass 0825 Phlox B652445-A Ni Po 401

Located in the Massilia/Ten Suns subsector, it faces the trailing Shiwonee subsector. Phlox has an Imperial Navel Base and sits at the end of a string of three J1s (0725 Mura, 0624 Nananana - both with B starports) ending with 0524 Bloom (A) which sits at the end of an XB route. This route soon splits into two parallel routes as it heads rimward into the adjacent Annari subsector.
One more world continues the J1 string from Bloom past Phlox: 826 Hervey (B) which is coded Amber.
I likely mustered out of the Imperial Navy here at Phlox, as this is the issuing world for TAS membership.

Howdy, neighbor. I'm just coreward of you, Duke of Strouden, in the Lunion subsector.

And, I'd just like to say that Dekha is an awesome world. In its subsector, it is second only to Vincennes. It rivals Deneb and Atsah in terms of its economy.
