This is a character I rolled up quickly (using MGT) as a part of Markos Skeerlie's backstory.
(I only fudged 2 rolls to fit the backstory: life event rolls in terms 5 and 6)
Pascoe Federman
C79A65, Age 42
ex-Army Lance Sergeant
Skills:
Gun Combat (slug rifle) 3, Gun Combat (slug pistol) 2, Melee (unarmed) 2
Mechanic 2, Streetwise 1, Athletics (Strength) 1, Recon 1, Medic 1
Gambler 1, Deception 1, Comms 1, Leadership 1
Computers 0, Carouse 0, Drive 0, Hvy Weapons 0, Stealth 0
Equipment:
Gauss Pistol, Subdermal Armor, Augmented Str +2 (included in UPP)
History:
People notice Pascoe's impressive bulk (190cm/110kg) immediately but don't seem to realize that underneath the muscle, the man's mind is very sharp. Rather than fighting the dumb brute stereotype, Pascoe has always used it to his advantage.
Coming from a fairly poor family, Pascoe saw the Army as his ticket to wealth and power. Preferring not too risk his own hide any more than necessary, he chose the support branch.
Following basic training, the Army saw potential in his strength and ran him through an advanced Martial Arts training program in addition to Mechanic school. He was quickly promoted to Lance Corporal.
During his second term, he cross-trained with a medic unit. These skills came in handy when he saved the life of a Major who had been wounded in combat. Ironically, his actions - motivated purely by self-interest - gained him a medal for heroism and a promotion to Corporal.
His third term saw him serving in a urban war, which he exploited to line his own pockets by running a black market. During his fourth term he found himself in an other warzone, but this time the combat was brutal enough that he had no time to run any scams and he truly earned his promotion to Lance Sergeant.
Following this, he found himself a cushy assignment in a Peacekeeping unit. The duty was light enough that he not only had time to run another black market, but also an illicit gambling operation.
Although no formal charges were filed, Pascoe felt some pressure and decided to not to reenlist at the end of his 5th term.
Pascoe found himself back on Rhylanor, in the same rundown neighborhood he started in... but by now he was one of the toughest men on the street. He started working as muscle for one of the local gangsters, with an eye toward moving up the chain of command.
It was around this time that a kid he knew from the Army - Markos Skeelie -contacted him looking for work. On his way to the meeting, however, he was arrested by the local police....
