Osmance?

Also, I don't know what osmance is. I can't find it defined, and therefore feel dumb. Help?

Osmancy is probably something to do with making and/or recording Smell. See page 482:
Osmancies. Recordings of smell performances.

Oh, and it is in the index...

OH! Well then, I might have to re-roll that. The sophont I'm working on is already established as having no sense of smell.

Anosmia (/ænˈɒzmiə/) [noun] is the inability to perceive odor or a lack of functioning olfaction—the loss of the sense of smell. Anosmia may be temporary, but traumatic anosmia can be permanent. Anosmia is due to an inflammation of the nasal mucosa, blockage of nasal passages or a destruction of one temporal lobe.

Hope that helps.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I can see it now - critically acclaimed titles: 'Madras', 'Hummus', 'Cabbages and Onions' and 'Clostridium'.

Thanks, I'm here 'til Friday. Try the fish.

Or everyone's favorite osmantic computer game classic:
