In late Sept-early Oct. wife and the kids (4yrs old & 2mths) are going down to Orlando . Yes there are the different worlds - SeaWorld & Disney World are top priorities. But, what else is there to do on a budget as those worlds cost alot of hard earned mula. More especially are there any good gaming shops?

There's a really good shop on International Drive that does comics, games, toys and SF memorabilia. At least there was back in 97.

Let's see what google brings up.

As to things to do, well there's lots. Especially if you don't confine yourself to Orlando. Take a bus out to Kennedy or head the other way to Busch Gardens (free beer, yoiks :))

There are a handful of 'dinner theatres' that specialize in themes - Medieval Times, Arabian Knights, Dixie Stampede.

The AAA guide lists all kinds of stuff - art museums, historic sites, small water parks, botanical gardens.

There are some serious malls for shopping - my better half makes sure we visit them.
