General Not sure if this is really ship design, but...

Has anyone made stats for modern jets?

Or even WWII fighters?

They're part of Earth's history.

Maybe some Ine Givar steal some plans?

Uh ... whut? 😵‍💫

Why would the Ine Givar need plans to obsolete (for millennia!) low tech atmospheric fighters that require a SPECIFIC atmospheric mix found on a world EIGHT SECTORS AWAY from the Spinward Marches in order to function at all?

The closest "analog" world with almost the right gravity and atmosphere mix is Porozlo/Rhylanor.

Even if the Ine Givar could build replicas, what are they going to do with anachronistic antiques that belong in a museum?
A single Laser Grav Tank would be able to shoot them all out of the sky without breaking a sweat (or a heat pump).

  • "Bows and arrows against the lightning. They haven't seen the heat ray yet." 😕

I know Striker build rules could make a good efforrt at it, but they might not be well-differentiated.
Never bothered, myself. Vaguely remember one issue of JTAS having a scenario involving jet fighters with starship missiles, don't recall whether they were attacking the convoy of grav vehicles (with the VIPs in a GCarrier) on a pilgimage to a holy site somewhere, or defending it. When I get home I'll taka a look through my books.

Found it.

JTAS #14, "Striker Variant: 'Foxhound'" (pp. 44-47). Convoy of GCarriers, PCs are using swing-wing jet fighters against the GCarriers and their escort of "Rampart" (LBB5?) fighters. Jet fighters have starship-grade missiles, space fighters have starship-grade beam lasers. Uses (mostly) a modified version of LBB1 range bands. Destination wasn't a holy site, but a neutral (and mostly disused) starport for a treaty signing.

There are some serious issues with CT striker propulsion, especially jet engines, they don’t scale well to actual TL improvements.

As noted any air breather and lift craft needs to be designed for its gravity, atmospheric composition and density, making them very specific to each planet. Grav vehicles and small craft are probably very desirable for their expeditionary any planet operations quality.

MgT vehicle books have plane stats. I particularly like the MgT2 approach where there is a speed performance level per expenditure per TL, and you are encouraged to slap on an engineering tech title after the fact.

ANY combustion powered vehicle is basically going to be limited to the environmental conditions of a single world.

The "environment agnostic" factor of fusion power and (reaction massless) gravitic propulsion make such a combination IDEAL for any kind of expeditionary "go anywhere" vehicle that is more or less "world agnostic" in most respects. You can still have complications with Corrosive and Insidious atmospheres, of course, but that's more of an "endurance" problem (don't stay out in that stuff too long, and check in with the maintenance chief when you get back!) rather than a "won't work" (at all) problem.

I have done this with Mongoose Supplement 6, military vehicles, and made something at TL7 with about the same stats as a modern RL jet fighter. It only cost about a million credits, not sure how that compares to RL currency. Top speed, about 1.65 Mach, Air-to-Air missiles and a Vulcan light autocannon, far less armor than it -could- mount, because trying to keep it realistic. So it's very do-able in that system. I don't know Striker, but I imagine if you look up actual stats on wikipedia, you can get an idea of what sort of values to aim for. For TL7/8 anyhow. Past that, go nuts.
