New T20 Weapons Needed!

jwdh71

SOC-12
All hail the COTI! My new campaign, which had been put on hold for a short time while some of the players (and me, the GM ;) got some personal issues straightened out, is now back on. It takes place in an alternate TU, and the PC's will be on a special ops mission, and therefore will be using, and facing a large variety of weaponry. I wanted to know if anyone out there has added to the list of weapons in the Traveller Handbook and TA #1 Personal Weapons of Charted Space, with nifty new toys of their own. I'm really looking for high-tech stuff, in the TL14-17 range, the lower end for the PC's, the higher for their opponents... (VBG)

Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

As always, YMMV

Do you need more bang for your credit?

Antioch Arms (A wholy owned subsidiary of X-TEK of Deneb, LIC) produces a wide variety of such "Weapons of Mass Destruction" for the Imperial Armed Forces as well as mercenaries and planetary dictators, for a nominal charge (and proper legal documentation).

High tech Gauss Weapons, Rapid Pulse Fusion Guns and personal X-Ray Lasers are some of the latest weapons developed for the galactic warlord who needs superiour firepower.

Use your local planetary communications network and access the X-TEK corporate site and place an order today! :D

(You can also ask LordRhys for a PDF copy of the "W.O.M.D")

I'm not sure why you are looking for weapons which are higher tech.

Are the ones available not deadly enough?

Or possibly you want more dealiness plus concealability.

My take has always been to let the players design any weapon they like and then I go through and give them whatever damage dice/range/copncelability I fancy. That way they do the bulk of the creative stuff. When the bad guys ping back at them, the fine details of the guns are irrelevant, I make up total modifiers by whim and adjust damage dice based on story needs (ie if the last conscious player is being straffed by a bad guy in circumstances where they can't miss, the bad will be near the end of the battery and flick the gun to a defrost setting - otherwise you kill too many PCs)

Does the first suggestion help I wonder?

The reason I need cutting edge weaponry (or would it be bleeding edge?) is the campaign is basically an extended special ops campaign. The PC's will be dealing with "Enemies of the United Worlds" whereever they may find them. To do so they will need some special equipment, and even more special weapons. To give them a bit of a challenge, and because they will be more heavily armed and armored than your typical run of the mill PC's (at least more than is usual in my campaigns), their adversaries will be armed to the teeth themselves. I want to keep it from degenerating into FGMP15's at 40 paces though, so what I'm looking for is a little variety to keep the PC's on their toes. Deadly is a given at the TL's we're talking about, concealability is a plus for spec ops.

CmdrX, your site is one of my favorites for new toys! I love it! The T20 weapons page is missing some that are on the GURPS page though, for which I am greatly disappointed! ;)

I'm using some of your starship weapons and drives for the ship the characters are in, great stuff!

LordRhys, an e-mail is winging itself to you even as we speak, can't wait to see what you have!

Thanks everyone for their replies, it's good to have this board, and everyone on it, as an excellent resource for T20!

Glad you like the page. It has not been easy to convert the GURPS weapons over to T20 stats, most of it is just fudging things around a bit.

Anying in particular you would like to see in T20 stats?

Oh, just everything.

Seriously, it's a really good gearhead page, and I've gotten loads of inspiration from it. Keep up the good work.

If anyone has any other toys hiding out there, let me know, I need all the help I can get...

P.S., A big thank you to LordRhys, for his prompt sending of the material he had. Very good stuff, nicely formatted and going to be very useful in this campaign.

If you are willing to pay money for a D20 supplement which contains a list of guns, I recommend the following:

Arsenal by Perpetrated Press contains a good set of weapons which could be adopted. You will need to adapt the "magic" handwaves to "sufficiently advanced technology".

Futuristic Gear for Darwin's World contains a few new weapons.

Imperial Supply for Dragonstar has a list of weapons plus other gear. As above, adapting "magic" to "sufficiently advanced technology" handwaves will be required.

Arms and Equipment guide for Star Wars D20. All kinds of cool guns and other neat stuff.

Thanks, for the info tjoneslo, I have taken a look at a couple of the books you mentioned, the Imperial supply catalog for Dragonstar, and the Star Wars D20 Arms and Equipment Guide, and I've managed to take soem things out of there that weren't too cheesy. I'll have to look up the other two you mentioned. Thanks again.

Well, I have gotten some responses, and thanks again to those who have replied. Just one more call for information, if anyone else has come across any new weapons for T20, or even D20 that I can adapt, I would greatly appreciate finding out about them.
