Elestrial Concordat - Settled by sub-light sleeper-ships, the people of the seven worlds of the Elestrial Trace fled the God-Emperors in the name of Historical and Religious Freedoms, founding the trace. Now, as they begin to experiment, Jumps longer than a parsec have them wondering what's left of the Empire. As they, with their banobo and canine uplift neighbors in the systems of the Trace look outward once again, perhaps not in fear for the first time. Unfortunately, as they look coreward, the Cyber-knights also have decided to return home... coming through Concordat Space in the process.

After the Quake - The Last Imperium committed suicide and murdered Charted Space in the bargain. Then, as the survivors began shifting the rubble, the Wave arrived and the Universe went mad. Magic returned and the gods with it while technologies failed. Many worlds died, a few survived, and none thrived.

This is the stuff of bedtime stories, of course, as no one can agree how long ago it happened.

The past is over. The now is here.

Ships can jump between the stars again. Worlds are reaching out again. The shroud which has lain across the universe is being rolled back and none can guess what will be revealed.
