Which edition are you using? It looked like most characters got some poor 1d10 rolls for years between turning points and poor rolls to keep going. Except La Trobe, who I don't think is possible under T2300 rules.

2300 AD (technically 2nd) René La Trobe got 23 years as a civil servant by passing a couple of turning points, switched to Army got only a year before he failed his turning point, so for story we wrote it off as 20+ years as an inactive Reserve his poor rank is based on time in service not ability, he's a middle-aged Dad Bod on his way to overweight with bad eyes and a devout coward (CUF 1), but dose know his way around the french civil code.

Wen is a super genius, passed one turning point in a Civi Job as a Computer Tech, her Computer & Electronics skills where kind of high when she started a few points got dropped on engineering and Theoretical Science, the GM was nice and let her drop the last few that where going to go to waste on Comms as a Related Skill on her 2nd (1 year) pass through Civi job, switched to Criminal dropped all her select skill on security systems didn't pass he nest turning point. wrote the story up as a child genius worked her way through her masters in Silicon Valley, then went to work for the Phone Company worked her way in to data security but told no one she was a Gray Hat Hacker.

Goto started out as a Colonist took mostly "Rancher" skills wit ha bit of prospecting on the side, on his 2nd turning point switched to Troubleshooter for a bit before failing his 4th turning point.

Stanthorp stuck through Scout Career and three turning points, was going to swap after the 4th but failed it

everyone got some kind of education bonus, so they did ok on skill points.

just about finished "The Tricolo's Shadow" Mackenzie has bean putting the party through 20+ hours a week of Paramilitary training and 10+ hours of PT a week since security is lacking. La Trobe is a old & lumpy Core Worlder, Goto has good paramilitary skills from being a colonial background and troubleshooter but has holes in his skill set, same with Stanthorp being a Colonial born scout, Wen & the Doc are hopeless being academic city girls.
