MT: Robots project

Afternoon PDT all,

I'm still trying to work through MT: Robots and automate the spreadsheet that OjnoTheRed created. Unfortunately, I keep breaking the pages I'm using, which means I'm going nowhere fast. Hopefully, I'll get the hang of both OpenOffice and not breaking the stuff already there. I'll give an update when I make some forward progress.

Sorry to hear the spreadsheets aren't untangling very easily. I confess I did them however I thought suitable at the time!

I've updated the box.net version in my signature and uploaded the spreadsheet to the files library here on CoTI. The update takes into account the lowering of the price of batteries in the MegaTraveller Errata, and also a correction to a design evalution of the Rashush Model 2.

Evening OjnoTheRed,

Thank you for the reply, the spreadsheet isn't really that badly tangled I just keep shifting stuff that causes something to go missing and I don't catch the missing part.

Gads, I added the fact I'd be downloading the updated spreadsheet in my email reply. I'm not very good at multi-tasking.

Catch you later.

Hello Tobias,

OjnoTheRed's project is awesome, so far my little bit is hanging up, but thank you for the positive feedback.
Yeah, I did mean him. Sorry if that wasn't clear. ;)
Would be great to have all the Robots so far compiled in a single PDF file. Any chance of that? I tried to port the output data from Openoffice calc to Openoffice writer, but it somehow didn't work.

See how honest I am I gave credit where credit was due. Unfortunately, I'm only learning OpenOffice so I'm not sure how to port between the two document type. I wonder if OjnoTheRed may have a clue.

Thanks tobias! Like the message in your signature, too, I had not thought of that.

The short answer is copy-and-paste from the spreadsheet into the writer file, but use paste-special instead of just paste and choose 'rich text' or 'html' instead of the default 'calc object'.

I got a bit of a system going to get the designs into the supplement from the spreadsheet, when I get time, I'll post a step-by-step here.
