More Good Minis

www.denizenminiatures.co.uk has some neat-looking figs. I don't have any yet - no money, honey (no honey either but let me worry about that). But my fingers itch to have them...

These were pointed out to me by those on the SJ Games Free Forums, and the sci-fi ones seem to be useful for Traveller. Note that they also make fantasy and non-fiction, as well.

Same here. The only non-Zhodani Venturan is the one without a helmet...

Though I think that they need better gallary images.
For some reason miniature sites in general, and specifically most UK companies, don't put many if any pics up. If they do they're usually like the above. I don't know why since most buyers will not purchase minis sight unseen.

This isn't as much a problem for me on the historicals side as I'm about in the middle between the IL cons and Historicon in PA but even then folk shouldn't have to go to a con just to see what a fig looks like. Must work for the manufacturers though.

He he he... good mini's. Definitely loved the Hitch Hikers ones, and Hagar and Snoopy....

Snoopy.... now THAT'S one strange Vargr, eh? :D

Another good - well, not the best, but still useful - site is that of the producers of Starguard. A friend clued me in, and they're pretty cheap too. (Like I said, not the best quality but, if'n I paint 'em (whenever that'll be, maybe after Christmas) they'll be better.)

Meh, I was never really impressed by Revirisco. My 6-year-old cousin with a can of Play-Doh could scuplpt better figs.
I like some of the Victorian, WWI era figures, and vehicles. If nothing else they cover some stuff that's just not made by other companies, are fairly cheap, and work well for toy soldier type figures. Not sure on the non-Victorian Science-Fiction figures though. There's always a need for cannon fodder.

As always YMMV,

Well, there is a noble couple with servants who could be transported...

I'd be interested in ideas on how to use those (ocean-bound) ships.

I have quite a few of the Adler 6mm vehicles and personell.

They look really good, and the "Venturians" DO look a LOT like Zhodani (That is what they will be being used for in my games at least... As well as for plain ol' generic troops in Non-Melieu games.
