DRAFT (I don't have my book handy, so these are very preliminary)

CREATING CHARACTERS: Think of a name and history. Roll 2D for STR, DEX, END, INT, EDU, SOC. Choose skills with levels from 1 to 6. Total # of skills, and the total # of levels, is no greater than EDU + INT. Buy Cr100 worth of equipment.

TASK DIFFICULTY MODS: Easy=-2, Difficult=+2, +2 for hasty, -2 for cautious.

TASK ROLLS: Roll 2D + skill level + characteristic/3 + difficulty mod >= 10 to succeed.

COMBAT: Each character gets to do something each turn. Ranged attacks are at difficulty = range (-2 short, +2 long, and so on...). Close attacks are 2D difficulty. Moving while shooting adds +2 to difficulty. A moving target adds +2 to difficulty.

DAMAGE: Subtract armor defense, apply remainder to character's END. When END goes to zero the character is dead.

NPCs: UPP=777777 plus all needed stuff and skills at level 2. Expert NPCs are created like characters.

The only thing I'm not sure of is the characteristic/5 part.
The standard MgT is more like "(characteristic/3)-2", but maybe that provides too much "tilt" for the probabilities here.

Hmm, simplifying Mongoose, which is not that difficult a character generation system, although more involved than the LBB.

How about considering doing the same for T5?
