MegaTraveller 2: Quest for the Ancients

Well, I have been playing this sucker for a week now. Not bad for 1980s software - and the mystery does drawn me in.

However - does anyone know of any patches for it?

Also, what is the best setting for DosBOX to run this game?

I run it pretty well with the default DosBox settings. I don't know of any patch; an patch which will correct the very few bugs AND will stop NPCs from running away from me at random (talking to people is ANNOYING at times) would be VERY welcome.

If you hail them, all NPCs on the screen freeze. Then you can walk up and talk to them no problem.

Another question: How do you take photographs of Ancients sites? These are supposed to be worth quite alot of money

I don't recall, as it has been quite a while since I've played it. I'm thinking just finding a new sight automatically adds a photo to your inventory? I'd have to go back and check.

Thanks, they have some other stuff that is /can be helpfull too. Character gen, world gen, mapping etc.

The manual for the game was, IIRC, essentially the basic books with some minor tweaks on how to interface with the software.

The manual says that you can choose between basic and advanced character gen, but I have only been able to get a basic Chargen results.

Blue Ghost is correct. There is a lot of the LBB material as well as some MT stuff in the manual. Skill lists and a description, basic ship and small craft, some ship weapon data, etc.

For some reason I was never able to finish MT2. I was able to find the ancient site, but couldn't enter it for whatever reason. I thought I had completed all the quests and such.

Has anybody ever finished this game?

Never been able to finish it.
But that was because I ended up switching to another game somewhere along the way.

I could usually get a merchant character with Broker of 9 or 10 who made it near impossible to lose Cr on cargo.

I used to start the game with a scout character with Gambling-6, which means no money worries - just hit every casino and you're laughing.
