Ladies & gentlemen of the boards,
It may come as some surprise recently there are moderators here. Allow me to introduce myself--(see the signature below)--and fellow poster. I haven't got a lot of time to explain why things are the way they are.
I got asked to do a job, and I volunteered and accepted it. I'm a plain spoken SOB, take it or leave it. I'm honest, and have but one identity here, not half a dozen.
YOU all know when I post, I'm online--I never "lurk". if I'm here, by God I'm here. The recent unpleasantness and sharp language crescendo is enough to make me wield a stick and say "STOP". I've used it twice since I took this job to edit a person's words. I will again.
Don't confuse my Love and defense of the 1st Amendment with a love for acrimony and rancor. Never do that, that will be an error on your part I will willingly correct.
As a moderator, I might personally dislike you, but if you're in the right of something, and the other of you (or youse as we say here in flyover country) drop off civil discourse into ad hominem attacks, I will take action. I say dislike, because none of you are worth the effort for me to hate you. Not one of you, & our Lives are too short.
I'm not the guy who bans folks; I can only recommend that action. Administrators do that job. We got one thing in common here, and that's our love and concern of the game of Traveller and it's future.
I'm direct, and to the point. Now, I have two jobs, and I write for this game in one of its current incarnations on the side. So I'm not a 24-7 Moderator. No human could be, that's why there's more than one of us.
This is my style.
Oh, and I do read and respond to all of my PM's. As I am on a civilian server here, use the PM to reach me, the Army -email Addy in my profile can only be reached by me via the new security system, and I'm not there all the time to do so.
