Is there some sort of cross-over game going on here that I don't know about or is it the case that Gauss Rifles = Magic Wands?

On the Gripping Hand, it could be a typo...

One of the weapons listed in TA 1 is the 'Magic Wand'.

Manufacturted by Close Quarters, LIC, it's basically a kubotan with a fechette gun cartridge built in, giving a 1-shot close in surprise...

Boss--would that be a sorta 1-shot (shotgun shell ammo) "bang stick", like certain folks use to hunt sharks with, only smaller/shorter?

Kind of, yes. But small enough to be used as a low profile baton in HTH

Doh! Ok. I don't see a tech level listed. The stealth ones are probably TL 12 (based on Body Pistol Tech) with the non stealth ones being, oh, taking a guess 9 or 10.

A one shot flame thrower would be fun. Flamable liquid under very high pressure that is ignited as the tank is emptied.

And here I was thinking someone was talking about poor ole Asu's "Mr. Magic" shockbaton's disguised as magic wand stage props.

Until I remembered that entry in TA1.

Still could be handy, like a updated one-off sword cane. Hmmmm...IIRC aren't there some examples of sword canes or regular canes with one shot concealed in them?

On my last trip as a military dependent to Italy, My Da' and I went to the Doge's palace (Venezia) and got to see some very nice baroque type things in the armory museum. There is one sword cane with a blackpowder pistol built into the left hand side of the blade, anchored into the handle. Dated circa 1634..early TL-4/ late TL-3??
