No need for house rules. I'm quite satisfied with MgT's 100% survival rate for properly conducted revivals.

Oh, yeah. Of course. I forgot I was participating in a Mongoose forum. I was thinking along the lines of CT when I wrote that.

It was a direct rip off from the Dumarest novels, but in those it was explained that the cold berths were designed for livestock not people, so only the desperate would risk it.

Makes a lot of sense, and it goes along with my idea of the technology not quite being "there". But, there must be a lot of desperate people on every world, given the random number of Low Berthers a ship's captain can attract.
