This is part of the sector that my Random Subsector, which is named Lahng sector now, is in. Lord Croker (named after the former sector capital, Croker) is to spinward and coreward of Lahng sector, and is separated by a small jump gap which continues into the subsectors to rimward and trailing. This jump gap was once overcome by the technology that humanity possesed before the Collapse, but this has been forgotten...
The Alreineir Commonocracy is the dominant polity of the subsector, comprising eleven member worlds and eight client states; these worlds take up a good portion of the spinward-coreward half of the subsector. The revolution which toppled Croker was started on Alreineir itself, although the Commonocracy didn't make its appearance (out of four worlds total) until a few hundred years ago. Commonocracy policy (ooo, a rhyme
) has been to bring the tech level of its member state up to a reasonably even level, which is why it only has eleven worlds and its client states.
Juphent leads the only other polity in the subsector by virtue of possessing the only A-port outside of Alreineir, but holds a mere four worlds. It has barely enough of an economy to avoid being reduced to client state status.
The planet Croker is an interdicted red zone with a balkanized political situation: all of the nations wish to restore the planet's former glory, power and domination, but do not plan to let any of the other nations share in it.
