Looking For A Group In Woking/Guildford

Opposite side of town. About a three quarters of a mile east of the center, just south of the railway.

If you follow the clues to the location of the protagonist's home in "The War of the Worlds", you end up at my place.

Almost looks like it could happen. I've just mentioned it on the London Travellers email list, to see if that rouses anyone.

BTW, I'd be happy to play anything or GM T20. I could host.

Not doing too well finding that fourth body here...

OK, a combined bump and enquiry: would you two be interested in a game with two players and the GM? It should be doable, if we're careful with characters and the scope of the game.

Ooh, only 40 mins away from me.., Much easier to get to than Paul's in London (hi Paul!). Hmm. How often and when are you guys looking to play, Joel?

I don't really know -- what's written in this thread is pretty much the whole story.

Me, I'd play twice a week (or maybe once if GMing). But I suspect the real figure will be somewhat lower...

Then there's the weekday evening vs weekend question.

Well, with four people (three plus GM) it seems like we could get a decent game off the ground if we put a little thought into it. I've PMd everybody asking them to check into this thread if they're interested.

That just leaves the small matters of:
1 location
2 time
3 frequency
4 who's GM
5 rules
6 genre

For my part...

1. I'd be happy to host, or to travel elsewhere in the great metropolis that is Woking. I'm about 15 minutes walk east of Woking train station. Parking here is "interesting" at weekends, but easier in the week.

2. Any weekday evening except Wednesday, I'm free most Sundays, Saturday tends to be tricky.

3. How does "aim for every 2 weeks and slip when someone can't make it" sound?

4. I'd mildly prefer to play but I'm prepared to GM. If somebody actively wants to GM, don't let me stand in your way.

5. I'll play anything. I'd prefer T20 if GMing (since I know the ropes).

6. Let's wander around and have adventures. I'd rather avoid an all out military game or a hyper-precise spreadsheet-heavy merchant game. I like happy parties, of characters who actually belong together.

Ok, I'm in, let's do this.

With regards to the following criteria:

1 location
2 time
3 frequency
4 who's GM
5 rules
6 genre

I am:

1. Easy. I'll go with the flow. I'm happy to host but I am also mobile and happy to collect people en route as long as they are not too far off my route.

2. Free pretty much most nights - week as well as weekends.

3. Not every night? Bummer. And I thought you guys were hard-core ;) Again, I'll go with the flow.

4. Not me amigo! I haven't played in about ten years so I'll be a newbie again for a few weeks before memory cells kick in and I pick up the gist of whatever system we are using.

5. Are for breaking...

6. I'm with Joel on the wandering around getting ourselves into and out of trouble. I've always prefered the tramp frieghter/small-time trader sort of role as many adventure hooks can be introduced this way, don't you agree?

I'm in! I'm on holiday at the moment so net access may be a bit 'spotty' for a few days, but will be online from this weekend onwards to sort out logistics with everyone else.
