30, April, 2082 – Arrive Orcana. Refueled from collapsible tanks. Commercial traffic extremely heavy in area, all moving Rimward. Plot course for Shanyfelt.

4, May, 2082 – Arrive Shanyfelt, three days early. Powerplant fails, flooding engineering spaces with radiation. Engineers succumb before closing hatch to engineering. Dr. Under, who had been prepared to recover brew, was able to secure the hatch. Remaining crew suited up, moved engineers to low berths, and vented atmosphere of ship. Enough emergency power available to maneuver to highport.

5, May, 2082 – Mr. McLaughlin perished during thawing, but Mr. Round is expected to make a full recovery. The Grendel is out of commission for about two months while repairs are made. Crew given extended leave during refit.
