Local Vs. Imperial Starmaps

Sir Brad

SOC-13
Ok I'm working on a new Sector for fun, anyway the only Major government (3 worlds an outpost and 4 clients) in one subsector (as they map things or two by the Imperial Standard) and an other outpost in the next subsector over.

any way since the 3I and the Joes are just starting to make their presence felt should I do the Starmaps around the local reference standard, should I use the Imperial Reference Stranded (ie canon Starmaps) or both as the Subsectors are the same size, it's just the local ones are offset a bit compared to those calculated from Reference/Core.

Don't worry about it. Unless it's in Foreven, a home made sector is violating some bit of canon or another, so take it from this canonista: It ain't worth worrying about. Pick your distance to the border, and go from there.

If you're in Foreven, I'd say use the local map in play, centered on your local polity, and place it on a secret GM map offset as you see fit, showing the actual sector borders.

Do whatever makes it easier on you.

Of course, if you WANT to be a canonista:
Spoiler:
the only place the Joes and Impies are nearby is either in Vargr space or in Foreven... get the CT CD or a used Atlas of the Imperium, and go from there. Or examine Travellermap.com, and rip from there.

it's beyond Far Frontiers, the Joe Client states are starting to encroach from Coreward and the 3I Client states and Corps from Trailing, in the far Rimward/Trailing subsector their is a dieing Aslan Colony Cluster (lack of genetic diversity), don't know what side of the Imperal Sector line the Aslan are on though
