Keanou

SOC-12
I am interested in knowing if there is any canon information on the world of Keanou in the Lanth subsector outside of that given in Behind The Claw; mainly in anything done for earlier versions of the game. Thanks!

Keanou was settled between 300 and 400 and joined the Imperium between 400 and 500. [Settlement maps]. Personally I wouldn't take that as evidence that Keanou has been an independent world for nigh on 800 years, but then, I'm very sceptical of low-population sovereign worlds.

According to The Spinward Marches, Twilight's Peak and The Traveller Adventure, Keanou has a hydrography score of 0. According to The Spinward Marches Campaign and Regency Sourcebook, it has a hydrography score of 2.

Keanou is a source of dustspice. [Twilight's Peak].

Not a previous nor a canon source, but when I wrote an article about all worlds within jump-6 of Regina for JTAS Online, I had a hard time imagining who the population that BtC claim is mostly employed in service industries around the port would provide service for, except perhaps a trickle of jump-1 traffic to Inthe and Rethe. All the jump-2 trade bypasses Keanou. So I came up with this instead:

2411 Keanou (Imperial)

Scout base.

Keanou is a cold, harsh world of rocky desert and mountains swept by bitter winds. The only settlement lies next to the starport. From here 'dusthunters' roam the desert looking for the plants that are the source of dustspice, a powerful seasoning with mild euphoric properties, especially popular among Aslan.

Oh, and I went with the hydrographics score of 2.

YMMV.
