Below is the text from Onno Meyer's post on the JTAS Design board. If interested in voting for a design crieteria or you don't have access to the JTAS boards let Onno know at onno.meyer@gmx.de .
Note 2: Onno has given me permission to include his email address, which I have included. Whew,
, dodged another gaffe.
Note 1 (added 04/14/04): I originally had Onno's email address listed, after some thought I decided to have you contact me instead. Sorry
Well, my thanks go to Leslie for hosting the contest, to the people
who voted for me, to the people who voted for someone else and to
the other participants.
I have a few ideas for Contest 24.
The first would be to write the Imperial Naval Intelligence estimate of the "new" Darrian TL13 cruisers which are mentioned in Humaniti, p. 44, complete with estimated technical specs. Since the Imperium knows just about nothing about the ships, you would be free to come up with any TL13 cruiser that makes sense to you. The boss wants
specs, so you write 'em
The Zhodani have been going towards the core for ages now. Surely there are some very interesting ships in those fleets. Write a ship that makes perfect sense in the context of a core expedition and little or no economic sense in the rest of known space, like a jump-6 far trader or a jump-capable factory ship with built-in nursery,
school, university and retirement home ...
To stay with the Interstellar Wars theme, what about a Terran trader which can convincingly claim to be civilian and still put up a good
fight if relations break down, again.
Any preferences? I'll listen a bit, then I'll decide and write the official specs and timeline.
Onno
