Hello all,

The Universal Ship Profile for CP-10798.92 a TL 12 6-ton fighter on JTAS 8 p. 37 is FF-0105521-030000-00001-0.

Looking at CT LBB 5 HG 2 p. 52 the 3 appear to be the USP Code Rating for 6 sandcasters and the 1 is the USP code for 1 or 2 missile racks.

From CT LBB 5 HG 2 p. 34 small craft are limited to the equivalent of one turret with a maximum of three weapons.

Have I correctly translated the USP and possibly found new errata?

No errata needed.

If you have one turret or equivalent you can mix weapons.
On ships 1000 tons and under, mixed turrets (weapons
of different types in the same turret) are allowed;

Now look closely at the turret weapon table on page 25, underneath the USP factors there are a couple of lines labelled TL modif +1 and TL modif +2.

The footnote explains:
TL Modifiers indicate a modification to the USP code based on higher tech levels. If all o
the weapons involved are of the tech level indicated, then the code rating is increased. For
example, 16 plasma guns normally have a rating of 4. At tech level 11, they would have a rating
of 5; at tech level 12 or higher, they would have a code rating of 6. TL modifiers are not
cumulative; only the best one is used. This tech level increase is the only way that weapons can
achieve a rating of 9.

The USP of a turret weapons receives a TL bonus, for missiles it is +1 at TL13 (so no bonus for the TL12 fighter), while the sandcaster receives a +1 at TL8 or a +2 at TL10 (so bonus of +2 for the TL12 fighter).

Morning Mike Wightman,

Thank you for the help and I realize that once again my focus got to narrow while trying to modify the spreadsheet I put together for starships/non-starships >=100 tons. Now I've got to go back a fix more stuff.

Thanks to Mike Wightman I found where my translation of the USP was incorrect.

Now that I'm correctly translating the USP my usual problem with math has occurred for both tons and cost. My calculated cost is approximately Cr40,000 lower than the cost shown for CP-10798.92 using Computer Model 2, which is not bad.

Unfortunately the Computer Model 2 as indicated in the USP FF-0105521-030000-00001-0 makes my calculated tonnage go over by 0.5 tons.

CT LBB 5 HG2 p. 34 "Drives states that No maneuver driver or power plant may be less than 1 ton;...."

My calculations show that a MD-5 on a 6-ton hull is 0.84 tons and a PP-5 is 1 ton. Ignoring the construction rule that no maneuver drive or power plant may be less than one ton my calculations show that I used all the 6-tons of the hull. Following the rule I go over by 0.5 tons.

Have I missed something else when working with CT LBB 5 HG2 and translating the JTAS fighter USP?
