Hello all,

I received an email from Jon Brazer Enterprise concerning a sale on some of the company's material which includes four Traveller compatible based in the Foreven Free Sector.

Are the company's Traveller stuff compatible with T20?

Only to the same way that any other Mongoose Traveller item is.

All current licensees are either T5 or MGT.

And getting two people to agree on how hard it is to migrate stuff from MGT to other editions is often argument inducing...

That said, all the UWPs will be roughly compatible, non of the technical stuff will match.

Looks like I may not be purchasing anything since I already have a hard time matching the technical stuff in any version of Traveller.

Thank you for the information.

I never quite understood why this is such a big deal. I don't know why the "technical" stuff can't, 90+% of the time, simply dropped in placed and hand wave the actual interactions with the current ruleset.

Especially if its some throwaway part of an adventure.

Characters for example. The character of a character is not their attributes, it's their backstory and motivations. The physical stats are pretty much secondary.

Most of play is interpretive, rather and gamed out. And the ref should be able to guesstimate a NPCs success rate at a particular task based on their published stats. While a character in Traveler can have a stat from, say, 1-15, interpreted it's more "weak, normal, strong, very strong" for example.

Just seems to me that the equipment and what not are really secondary to the actual story and other collateral (location descriptions, maps, etc.) vs how much armor a tank has.

Becuase this:

Is quite untrue for many people. You're arguing from a false premise.
