General I've blogged about science-fiction roleplaying

It's mostly informed by my long experience in Traveller, but there are some mentions of Star Trek, Star Wars, one Expanse call out and some Battletech. Please take a peek if you feel so inclined.

I posted another Traveler-adjacent blog today! For many of us here on CotI, the advice is pretty old hat. We've been going back and forth about how credits and C-Bills work for decades. And skipping your ship's mortgage is practically a campaign framework for Traveller. Still, gotta chase them stacks of MCr!

This week Lore and Legends of the Dezzyverse dives into the Classic FASA Trek RPG

Mechanical Minds and Clockwork Slaves, this week's Lore and Legends of the Dezzyverse introduces the dark miracle of the Mazinyk. Their Differential Brains think as automatons, their Corespring clockwork hearts yearn for something more than servitude.

Finishing off my City of Miseries series for Spooky Season

I added a new Traveller Blog to Lore and Legends of the Dezzyverse this week. Adding some roleplaying details to star travel.

If stuck with gruelpaks only in small craft staterooms for weeks, I’d probably start laying on -1 DMs for random charstats per month. Sometimes negative conditions affect physical performance, sometimes mental or proper social behavior befitting rank.

A little bit of fresh food and room or recreational substances can start alleviating or stretching out such impacts. Shore leave is a thing.

This week, Lore and Legends of the Dezzyverse return to the Battletech Universe during the 3051 "Year of Peace". Exploring (or exploiting) the vulnerabilities of occupiers when the invasion stalls.
