It has to make money

Whatever happens to Traveller and T5, it has to make money, unless it becomes some sort of nonprofit gig. Gurps Traveller is making money by following a simple rule -- keep giving the buying world a few interesting updates at varying price points on a regular basis.

I suspect that 2300, TNE, and Megatraveller where attempts to lure back the gaming audience and keep the revenue stream going. The question I have is how can T5 set itself up so that Mr. Miller can make a wad of cash on it. This is not sarcastic. If Mr. Miller makes a wad of cash, it means we are getting our monies worth from the game and buying more and more products.

I suspect that Mr. Miller needs to, in addition to getting a quality product out the door that attracts the desires of the grognards on this and other forums (I wonder if any market research has been done on what shape Traveller should take?) but be in a position to develop a steady stream of work, which will obviously have to be editing and written by more than just Mr. Miller, even if he is the head guru. Does anyone know if editorial staffing and free lance writers are being lined up for the follow ons to the T5 product?

Well, it at least needs to pay for its own costs! And Hunter might be a good person to ask about T5 authoring.

Assuming that Mr. Miller is wealthy already and can afford this hobby, I agree. Certianly break even game books are released by companies to keep momentum. I am just hoping that there is a method in place to do research on saleable ideas and edit / write these ideas into product that can be released to continue a profit stream. I might try to find Mr. Hunter and ask if these are in their thinking.
