OTU Only: Information about the Imperium in the 980's

I am developing a sort of interest in the start of the Solomani Rim War (starting 990 Imperial), and the few preceding years (say, 986-992). What canonical sources exist for that milieu? I'm interested in what the differences are from the Golden Era milieu in terms of tech level, starships and so on...

RPGGeek has a setting called "Gateway Era" that is supposed to be year 993. Close enough? You can find references to Traveller products and magazine articles set in this time here:

Yeah, that's effective the setting period for T20. If may be worth looking at some of the supplements just to provide material for your game and take from them to use with the system you're using, presuming it's not t20 you play with.

The Imperium has a maximum ship building TL of 14 (achieved in the year 700), however there will be experimental TL15 hybrids and test designs in the secret depots where such stuff is tested.

The Imperium graduates to TL15 in 1000, and so would start mass production of the experimental stuff built and tested during the Solomani Rim War.

That's the common paradigm (at least for the Classic Era); Imperial Navy TL15, colonial forces lower than that. Logically, though, the ship procurement rules would lead to colonial warships being built at the highest tech level available in the subsector (duchy?). Or at least the highest TL on a world with a high or highish population. Since quite a few of these subsectors will have major worlds that have been TL14 for centuries, quite a few colonial forces would logically be TL14 too. But then, the same logic applies to the Classic Era.

Don't forget that the ubiquitous Type A's are what, TL10 or 12? So even back then you'd still see a bunch of them, plus a lot of the stock vessels built to lower tech ratings, that we normally see in the early 1100's.
