"Imperium" starships

Seeking information concerning the starships used in the game Imperium.

Is there a list of the starships in a Traveller game format? Class Name; Tonnage; etc. For example what is the famous Terran Confederation Missile boat class named?

Does the game FFW have this type info?

The only canon answers I know of to the Imperium ships question hasn't been published yet

GURPS Traveller Interstellar Wars will probably have the answers...

And no, FFW doesn't identify the ship types either

The Fighting Ships Supplement mentions how many of some Battleships are stationed in the Spinward Marches but not when.

The "101 Starships" for GURPS Traveller book by bits is in the format I was hoping to find.

GURPS Traveller Interstellar Wars does have a number of ship designs.

The version of the missile boat given differs a bit from the way I would have designed it and the Terran CL and Imperial capital ships are missing.

Note that each counter in Imperium represents a group of ships (you didn't think a division of infantry would fit in one freighter, did you?), so that a high counter factor could represent a few big ships or many small ones.

When I think of missile boats, I think of something like this...

The tech level of the time was 10 to 11. The ships had Jump 1 or 2 only.

There probably also isn't a single class of ships represented in each type. For example, during the IW timeframe, the Terrans probably don't field just one light cruiser design. Instead, they have several related designs (successive improvements) along with a few that are completely different in style.

That situation would be analagous to the state of naval units in World War 2 where the US fielded a number of different classes for each ship type.

Yeah, the TL-11 version I wouldn't use (it's too well defended and too Munchkin) is this.

Yes I think in GURPS TRAVELLER it is clear that the Terrans made a huge military leap when they were able to construct Jump-3 ships.

This Interstellar Wars book that GURPS is working on sounds very interesting.

I almost see this war between the First Imperium and the Terran Confederation analogous to the Greeks fighting the Persian Empire in ancient times. Destruction of First Imperium commerce by brigandage like tactics of course brings to mind Sir Francis Drake and the other sea dogs of the 17th century.

Be fun to set up a game that extends "Imperium" into the Nth Interstellar Wars. Just really need a map of the Sol and Dingir subsectors. Setting up Jump routes would be a challenge. I am curious how FFW sets up the 5th Frontier War, are there jump routes?

GDW started to do this; a project called "Twilight Imperium." There are references and a photo of the playtest map in the FFE reprints of classic TRAVELLER games.

As for FFW; no, there are not any jump routes. Squadrons in FFW are assigned jump ranges and can go anywhere within their range. The X-boat routes are still on the map and serve as a way to move admirals around without having to use a squadron to do so.

Of course, FFW operates with a one week per turn time scale, while IMPERIUM is two =years= per game turn.

Thanks also with the info on FFW and how it deals with the jump routes plus other game mechanics. Seems like it would be easy to adapt to other space conflicts. I guess the hardest thing is deciding what forces are available and where.

You could always just play out the Solomani Rim sector using the TCS and Book-2 rules to determine the available forces...

Amazing when you start to search for information how many people have added to the traveller universe. Well I started using Galactic 2.4 by Jim Vassilakos to create my maps for the Sol and Dingir subsectors.
