Hostile and Zaibatsu

Has anyone done much to port cyberenhancements (a-la CP202 or even Shadowrun) into a Hostile or Ziabatsu game? I gave it a go in my T5 campaign but would be keen to hear of how anyone else may have tried it in those earlier settings.

From what I remember, funnily enough, in Hostile & Zaibatsu, cybernetics are not really that much of a thing. More generally you'd see biological enhancement through drugs or therapies.
This is unique to Zaibatsu, as is the setting’s retrogenics technology. Forget cybernetics in the traditional roleplaying game sense; with tech out of date as soon as it leaves the production line, no sucker is going to trade meat for metal if his new arm, say, will be redundant in two months. Now, updating the meat, that’s something else... By the time we build a ‘stronger, faster’ cybernetic arm or leg to replace the real limb, we will undoubtedly be able to regenerate a limb with clone technology. It’s not too far away. The next step is to augment the DNA to grow a stronger limb, and after that use DNA viruses to alter existing limbs.
Which actually is interesting. It means some of your jacked up fellow PCs or enemies might not be obvious at first glance.

This item on Cybernetics for the Cepheus Engine, while also looking at higher TLs, may be of use.

If you used the TL staged development in the T5 BBB then later effects at higher costs and lower TLs could be included, putting a number of these within reach of corporate or government sponsored PCs in Hostile.

Anyone got the Marine Corps Handbook 2215 for use yet?

Yes. Although I haven't run anything using it yet I like the overall book. Its a nice complete look at the Marines and how they work. Lots of interesting ideas on what kind of operations they get involved in and how they'd work as a campaign. Lots of nice equipment and weapons.

What I particularly liked was the rules additions to change personal combat to squad or section level combat which I thought was a great addition to the game for a military campaigner like me.

A good buy (and I think there's a black Friday sale coming up).

Humorously, the cityscape images in Zaibatsu are from Hong Kong actually. :D

Hey that's not fair :)

That nice full page photo near the contents is Hong Kong, but when I saw the photo, with the sea mist rolling in and muting those skyscraper neons ... I had to have it for the book. I've been to HK ... but not Tokyo. Maybe one day.
