The Hivers. Just got the aliens reprint and I forgot how great they were. IMHO one of the really alien aliens out there. Imagine trying to operate the bridge of a Hiver starship. Throttle and stick five feet apart! HA!

Geesh try to play a Hiver.

I am going to make some Hiver systems and starships for MTU.
I know the main points from the book but what really would make it seem alien?

Such as,
I figure Hiver warship will be heavy on long range missiles and heavily armored.
Hiver planets will have unique codes of law that will perplex humans.
HCr Hiver credits = ICr exactly?

Go find Aliens of the Rim. It was a TNE supplement that dealt with the Hivers (who were the patrons of the Reformation Coalition). It takes AM7 and turns it on its head.

There are a few things that are over the top, but it still does a great job of making the Hivers really strange, and allows you to essentially pick which depth of description to use.

If you don't want to hunt eBay for it, you can always get the PDF from DriveThruRPG.

Welcome fellow Hiver fan. My favorite canon alien. Will their ships have that big beastie thing (I forget the name) they so love. Imagine being a passenger on a hiver ship and it comes lumbering down the corridor.
