Help finding a Vargr population in the Marches

Hi,

I am stuck at work for the next 4-5 hours and I am trying to find a population center in either the Regina or Aramis subsectors of the Spinward Marches before 1115. I know there are worlds with mixed Vargr/Human populations but can not seem to find any listings of them using google or yahoo.

Can someone help?

Thanks

Marc

Per SMC (Spinward Marches Campaign) book (pg 17):

"A single world in the Spinward Marches has been colonized by Vargr. Rushu (0215) was originally colonized by the Rukh Aegz (the Worlds of Leader Rukh) in 1070. Human settlements on the world were bought out at a fair price during the establishment of the colony. In 1099, Rushu declared its independence from the Rukh Aegz and aligned itself with the Zhodani Consulate."

So not in Regina (close though, in Querion, 2 over and 1 down) or Aramis. There are bound to be some just over the border above Regina and Aramis though.

Not sure about mixed worlds though.

MegaTraveller Library data notes:

"While only a few planets populated completely by Vargr exist within the Imperium, there are millions of Vargr citizens of loyal subject planets. Additionally, Vargr adventurers, criminals, mercenaries and traders can be found throughout the coreward reaches of the Imperium."

I'd say, pick a world(s) that suit and just make up a percentage of the pop being Vargr. Who's to know or gainsay you :)

In The Traveller Adventure, they point to a number of worlds along the "northern" edge of the Aramis subsector that have Vargr refugee enclaves, granted asylum by the Imperium.

Which reminds me, that's one of the missing UWPs of SMC. But with a pop of 3 (per S3) there can't be that many (as a fraction) Vargr there. Just curious where you found the large Vargr reference S4?

It is a small Vargr colony reference, TTA, bottom of p126:

A second element of Jesedipere's population-only recently established-is the large refugee camp set up for
Vargr who have fled across the border in the face of Kforuz expansion. A colony of approximately 3500 refugees has been established on a large island 250 kilometers distant from Downport. Scout Service authorities on the planet are awaiting official word from Aramis concerning the ultimate fate of these Vargr, who in the meantime have suffered greatly from a lack of medical supplies and food. Relief efforts have been organized by the Torenlee Foundation on Junidy, and the situation has stabilized somewhat, but conditions are still very harsh.

The Traveller Adventure pg 82.

"Jesedipere has recently become the site of a substantial refugee camp set up by Vargr fleeing from the rapid expansion of the Kforuzeng."

UWP (1105) C775300-7

Yes, and there's a JTAS adventure that deals with the Vargr on Jesedipere too (if memory serves).

That might be where I was vaguely recalling a Vargr settlements reference. Not many JTAS here anymore though. I don't think it was TTA I was recalling it from (having only ever glanced through it).

well, I am basing my next situ on vargr that have made their way to Inthe(Regina) and have founded thriving little doggie gangs on that balkanized world >:) But I needed the basis to root the story line in.

Thanks for the help!

Any of the gang related movies would do for this. Here are few (in no particular order):

Boyz in tha Hood
The Wild One
The Warriors
Streets of Fire Surreal, but the sledgehammer fight is EPIC... ;)

I remember mention of millions of Vargyr spread through the Marches, but I don't remember any Imperial planet designated as Vargyr. There was mention of Vargyr worlds in Paranoid Press's Vanguard Reaches, but that's far from the Imperium.
