However, there is a "cheat". Since he does not use an index (or similar) file, you can just access the directory by using http://www.downport.com/~ferris/ . The version 1.08 beta is in the directory.
I took advantage of the above information and D/L the file.
One the things I was hoping for was to have the ability to edit planets/orbits i.e. I want a planet with an exotic atmosphere in this orbit, not the asteroid belt that the system generated. Upon D/L the file I saw that the option to edit a world was now active. With great hope I started playing.
I have so far been disappointed.
No mater what settings I have tried I frequently get "type mismatch" errors. These have occurred when I have tried to change the planets size, its population, or even the name.
On the rare occasions that I have managed to make some changes to a planet (normally only after making one change and then saving, leaving and returning to the program, an irritating thing in and of itself) the change does not appear on the initial system map.
I would not be using this method to report the problem, but the message that I sent using the build in "report a bug" section of help BOUNCED.
If someone could give me a good e-mail address to the author I would appreciate it. There are many features of H&E that I like, but until I can see a reliable, FUNCTIONING planet/world editing system I will continue to use Galactic.
