Hazards of running traveller

The Thing

SOC-13
I saw this on www.midnightslair.com. There's a thread on it with a lot of these "RPG inspirational posters", some of which are about traveller. This was just one of several...

I don't see the place for this, though... ? I am on the laptop and did get a "Missing Plug-in" warning, but I don't see a place for threads. :(

I'm not a laptop owner, so I may not understand your problem. I get the impression you saw the picture, but what was the problem in your second message? Couldn't you get to the site I linked to, or find the thread? The thread is in the "rpg free for all" board if that helps.

Here's a direct link to the thread itself. Be warned: it's an incredibly long thread with hundreds and hundreds of images: http://midnightslair.com/forum/showthread.php?t=469&page=126

P.S. I checked the main site, and yes it is hard to find the forums from it. My bad, but they do exist. Use the second link if you can't find them.

Thank you for the second link - that is MUCH better! :D And, yes, I will waste a great deal of time going through every page of those.... ;)

That was a brilliant find thing! Thanks for lighting up my lunchhour! Some of those are very, very funny.

Science Fiction role playing is all about managing expectations...somehow, it for first time players, it is always a bit disappointing. I guess the secret would be have some great SF stories where characters evolve...as everyone forgets that in the first film, Luke was just a damn lucky farm boy or that Ripley was just an average deckhand with a low ranking commission.

Hi Guys,
It was a nice surprise to see the Lair brought up here. I am a regualr poster over there, I go "Rover" there too.

It is a great place for general gaming discussions. So far the members have been mature and respectful. It's a good group. The Lair also puts out a great gaming podcast. Download a few eps and you'll see.

I am the lead culprit of the inspirational poster thread. I'd love to take credit for creating the posters, but all but a few of my posts have been copied from a thread on RPG.net. That thread has a lot of discussion and posters that aren't too clever. I kinda look at it like a "best of." I hope you enjoy.

What is the matter with what has been posted so far...many a "babe" that I have met in my wanderings of Science Fiction and Gaming conventions love Science Fiction. One reason that Traveller has failed to attract women into gaming has been in part due some of the puritanical diatribes set out by its founders. If they were more attuned to contemporary popular culture, they might actually see that.

Oh, traveller has had female emperors, like Arbellatra, so what more can the game do to attract women?
