HASS (Homogeneity, Acceptance, Strangeness, Symbols)

Has anyone seen, encountered or worked on HASS? I have read the definitions in the T5 rules, but I was looking for more detail. If there is none I am interested in writing something up for all of us detail freaks.

They are intended to be relative instead of absolute, but I realize that won't stop the "detail freaks" from trying.

I had been hoping they could be used as DMs for social interactions. Like:
1.Record your homeworld's HASS score.
2.During chargen, every term, modify your HASS 1 point closer to "interstellar norms" as you become more "cosmopolitan"
3.During play, when appropriate, apply the difference of appropriate value(s) between two characters as a -DM during a social interaction.
"What we have here, is a failure to communicate" - some penal officer
When that DM makes the difference in failure, hilarity ensues. :coffeesip:

Sounds like a good application.

All four make good RP cues for both PCs coming from a given set of values and PCs interacting with visited worlds and their inhabitants.

As an example, we had a ship rescue encounter with a bunch of kids. Once we established their homeworld and looked at its HASS, we realized they were literally Boy Scouts. High H but moderate Acceptance, lowish Strangeness, and high Symbols, all from the local High Pop.

Lots of popcorn sales to afford that trip...
