Ground Control 2 as 2300AD

Hi all. Bought Ground Control II (PC tactical strategy game) by Massive Entertainment. Great game and a great depiction of what 2300AD military adventures might be like - depending on one's interpretation of course. Anyone else played it yet?

It is great. I would have to agree that it gives a good idea of future combat The opening movie rocks. Except for that loan grunt in front of the shop window though, I don't think he enjoyed it to much!!

Also the idea that in two hundred years, sensors will have a maximum range of 100 meters and missiles 25 meters - another advantage of pen and paper RPGs over video games - but the flavour of future combat is there.

In a way the ranges "Sort of" make sense if you
factor in all the counter ECM that even the average grunt will carry.That's probably why the ranges are so short......and of course for ease of play etc.....
