Good idea for Horde

My son came up with a good idea while playing last night. Have the locals build a portable radio tower, with transmitter and generator. Then, take it and put it together back at the furachnidi' ship, to draw them back. Since they've already denuded that area of life, many of them should starve before they can make it back to an area that has food, making the eradication problem easier.

They don't yet know just how fast the furachnid multiply, but it's a really clever idea anyhow.

They've also reasoned out that the furachnid seem to go bananas when a maternal is killed. We didn't finish last night, but it seemed they were on the verge of coupling the radio tower idea with killing a maternal (to wake up more furachnid and get them back to the ship as well).

It should be interesting next session.

Hmm, give your son some extra bonus skill points for coming up with that. My idea was putting a big transmitter in an air raft, with a trailing wire antenna, and then playing Pied Piper.

That's a wonderful idea.

It won't work because the Chamax use both a somewhat short range radio detection "sense" and a very long distance life form "detection" ability which is said to be akin to some psionic abilities. The "attention/attraction" produced by the Chamax' life detection ability overrides the same "attention/attraction" produced by their radio detection ability as the Perimeter Defense section explains.

The only way I know this is because my players had the same idea your son did!

It's going to be interesting because your son and his friends are engaged in the session. Their ideas and your other post about them talking about the session well after the fact are proof of that.

They're also proof of your success as a referee.
