Getting a New Site Together

I am in the late planning stages of a new site, akin to the old Sidur Haski Design Consortium. This new one is set in the Zarushagar Sector.

I used to use MSN Groups for the old SHDC, but had several maint problems with it. The question is, do any of you out there have any suggestions as to how I should go about hosting it? As a forum? A blog?

I am going to focus on ships, aliens, robots, vehicles, weapons, and a bit of astrogation and the like thrown in, so the site is going to be image-heavy. I'd also like it to be able to spit out a few .pdfs when the need arises.

If anyone has any suggestions or tips for me before I get to the production stage, they would be greatly appreciated. Any advice is helpful.

I'd avoid any of the "groups" sites, then, based on what you are wanting to release. I run Stellar Reaches off of a blog (WordPress) sponsored and supported by NWGamers. They have been awesome to me these last two years, and it has been muchly appreciated. You might consider talking to them about the possibilities.

Actually, I know what you mean. I have talked with them before, and they seem very capable and helpful chaps. They at one point were going to or wanted to host the Consortium, but I got sidetracked by several other projects until now. The problem I have the hardest time with is the formatting size for various banners and the like.

Also a side note: My Zarushagar is totally not-OTU aside from place names and what have you. I know that you Avenger types are using it I think for some 1248 projects, and I'd like to assure that my presentation will be taking place in the year 1100, as with most of my stuff. I saw some dynamite writeups on a few planets in subsector A by a certain Liam Devlin, but these seemed to be for 1248.

My target system is "Alisia" in the "Ibaru" subsector of Zarushagar. (Subsector A)

Totally non-OTU? I liked the things you did with the OTU, so an ATU by you is going to be interesting to play in...

Well, its OTU with all the Dukes and Counts and suchawhat. The datasets should be stable, its just that I'm not too sure how canonistic it all is.
