Geomorph Shipyard: a tool for creating deck plans

Hi y'all,

Most of you should already know about the Starship Geomorphs (by Robert Pearce of "Yet Another Traveller Blog"). I like to play with them, but creating ships was a bit of a hassle when it comes to image editing software.

I ended up over-engineering a solution, and have created a simple(-ish) tool to snap some geomorphs together.

I've named it, unimaginatively, the "Geomorph Shipyard":

It's a web application at: https://ivan.sanchezortega.es/geomorph-shipyard/

On the technical side: it's a bunch of javascript, mostly Svelte and Leaflet. Runs 100% in the browser (no accounts, no sign-ups, no cookies, no cloud stuff) and ships can be downloaded as small JSON files. More information (and complete source code, and bugtracker with planned features) at https://gitlab.com/IvanSanchez/geomorph-shipyard

I hope you folks find it useful.

This is amazing. I have been using Starship Geomorphs for everything (buildings, space stations) and spending a lot of time editing things. This new tool makes it sooo much easier.

Over the last week I've been able to work on some features, so now there's library filters:

...plus buggy "export to image", geomorphs from the first book, and random ships on startup. Enjoy!
Thank you so much for all that hard work (and of course Robert Pearce as well)

Hi Ivan,

Thank you for the updates. I must say, the random ships on startup produces some very cool and interesting ships, combinations I might not have made myself, but which spark new ideas and give a lot of inspiration. Very nice touch.
