Forum Switch Suggestion

If in the next few weeks the COTI boards go down I propose that we switch to the following:

http://www.the-children-of-earth.org/forums/Blah/Blah.cgi

This board has categories similar to COTI which would make transition easier. There are other forums out there but we all need to switch to the same one, otherwise our community might suffer. So you can go ahead and register now or write down the address for future reference. (Remember that if CotI goes down you wont be able to reference this post then.)

It's just a suggestion.

I support the idea of moving it to Avenger but I am wondering why we don't go back to putting it on Far Future Enterprise with a portion of licence costs going into web maintance, if QLI does not renew.

Anyone else know any more? Obviously, I hope Hunter will be able to resolve his problems and CotI will stay around to keep me from getting any work done for many years to come, but this search has at least set my mind at ease that this online community can survive even if this fine home doesn't.

Here's the forum for the games I'm in: Fool's Errand and the Traveller Adventure.

Personally, I'd plump for Commander Drax's CoE forums as the common meeting point, as they already have a lot of similar topic divisions, and the good Commander has graciously invited us all over. Doesn't really affect me, as I check up on all of them on a fairly regular basis.

Are any of the mods able to pin thread? Maybe this situation demands a higher profile.

The full story is on the home page in the form of some notes from Hunter. In brief Life(tm) has not been kind to him and his family. So there is some concern the board may go down for lack of maintenance.

I'm not too worried myself, there's evidence that Hunter is managing to keep it all working from behind the scenes. Still some of us would like to give back a little for what he's done for us here and help him out if we can to keep CotI around as long as possible.

That's about it.
